17th Sunday After Pentecost by Fr. Mark

Hi,

I am Father Mark Tiger, creator of this blog.  I am an independent Catholic Priest.  I run a private Oratory called Saint Titus.  (Fr. Mark of St. Titus)

I bring this message for everybody in the world:
“Peace, Abundance, and Protection
For our Earth,
And all it’s inhabitants."

I call all to reflection, prayer, and a request, for the improvement of the state of our Earth.
My desire is to call all of humankind to reflect on this thought, everyday, preferably at midday, or first thing in the morning or in the evening.  I am calling all Catholics, Protestants, all Christians, and people of all other religions, as well as those who don't subscribe to a religion, and those who don't believe in God.  All of us whoever we are, we Inhabit this Earth.

17th Sunday After Pentecost  by Fr. Mark:

Greetings to all,

Today we again think of our Earth and her great need, as we think on these words:
"Peace, Abundance, and Protection
For our Earth,
And all it's inhabitants."

Where-ever you stand or don’t stand from a religious point of view, please keep this reflection close to your heart at all times.  We need to stand together as Humankind, and turn the progress of Global Warming around.  By thinking about these words, we will start to think of things we can do, and hopefully start planting trees and putting into practice other things that will make a difference.

"Peace, Abundance, and Protection
For our Earth,
And all it's inhabitants."

Here is a brief overview of what various religious groups are thinking about at this time.  We will go into a little more detail for the Traditional Catholics, and Liberal Catholics.

Roman Catholic: 25th Sunday of Ordinary Time (Green)

Protestant: No specific celebration this Sunday

Hebrew:  Yom Kippur: starts at Sunset of September 25 through nightfall of September 26

Buddhist: September is contemplation on "Craving"

Hindu: Sep 19 - Ganesh Chaturthi

Muslim/Sufi:  9/23: Vigil for freedom of religion in Saudi Arabia

Taoist:  Festival honoring the shen of winds; Thanksgiving is made for the harvest.

Pagan/Wiccan: Ostara (Spring/Vernal Equinox) Sept 20-23; Northern Hemisphere Date: March (20-23), Also known as Eostre.

Traditional Catholic (Tridentine): 17th Sunday after Pentecost,  Colour Green, class B
Intent:
Charity towards God and our neighbour.
Collect:
Grant, we beseech Thee, O Lord, that Thy people may shun all the wiles of the devil:  and with pure mind follow Thee, the only God.  Through our    Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end.  Amen.
Details:
The Liturgy reminds us today of the great commandment of charity towards God and our Neighbour. "The precept is twofold," declares St Augustine,    "but charity is one."  We love God above all and our neighbour for his sake.

St Linus, the succesor of St Peter in the Apostolic See.  Ruled the church for about nine years.  He was Martyrd, and was buried next to the Prince of the Apostles, on this day in A.D. 78.

St Thecla was converted by St Paul, Under the emperor Nero vain attempts were made to compass her death by fire, by serpents, by wild beasts.     After a life of solitary retirement, she died at the age of 90, on this day.

Note that the colour for St Linus is RED, and a class C service.  This means that you can optinally celebrate in Red today, and put the number of candles on the altar to satisfy class D,C, or B.  In other words, the bare essential number of candles, and right up to a bit less than a major celebration like Christmas.

Liberal Catholic: 16th Sunday after Trinity, Colour Green, class D
Intent:
   Justice
Collect:
O God, in whom is no variableness, niether shadow of turning; we lean upon thy justice as upon a pillar of thy throne; we thank and bless thee for thy    holy law that changeth not and pray for wisdom that under it we may live according to thy will, who lliveth and reignest, Father, Son and Spirit one God    for evermore.  Amen.

Let us all say these words together now:
"Peace, Abundance, and Protection
For our Earth,
And all it's inhabitants."

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.  Amen.

God Bless,
Father Mark Tiger,
